The Therapeutic Grade Difference
If you have been to the health food store in search of essential oils you have probably noticed that the labels will recommend that you always dilute the oil and never consume it.
Why is this?
In North America, essential oils are predominately produced by perfume companies. They are most often synthetic, almost always adulterated, and not intended for therapeutic use. The lack of regulation in the fragrance industry allows for perfume companies to claim their product is 100% pure when in fact it is only required to contain 5% of the actual substance claimed on the label.
True, 100% therapeutic-grade essential oils are grown, harvested, and distilled with the intention of channeling nature's living energy to the recipient.
Essential oils are the life blood of the plant from which it came, analogous to the blood that runs through our veins. These oils provide plants with protection from bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and "dis-ease" in the plants from which they came and thus provide the same benefits for our bodies and immune systems.

Are Your Essential Oils Therapeutic-Grade?
- Are the fragrances delicate, rich and organic?
- Do the aromas vary from batch to batch as an indication that they are painstakingly distilled in small batches rather than industrially processed on a large scale?
- Does your supplier subject each batch of essential oils through multiple chemical analysis to test for purity and therapeutic quality?
- Are these tests performed by independent labs?
- Does your supplier grow and distill their own organically grown herbs?
- Are the distillation facilities part of the farm where the herbs are grown so oils are freshly distilled and maintain optimal potency?
- Does your supplier use low pressure and low temperature to distill essential oils so as to preserve all of their fragile chemical constituents?
- Are the distillation cookers fabricated from costly food grade stainless steel alloys to reduce the likelihood of the oils chemically reacting with metal?
- Does your supplier personally inspect the fields and distilleries where the herbs are grown and distilled?
- Do they verify that no synthetic or harmful solvents or chemicals are used throughout the process?
- Do your essential oils meet and exceed AFNOR or ISO standards?
- Do your oils come in dark amber glass bottles?
- Are your suppliers oils used in hospitals for their therapeutic healing?
- Is your supplier internally driven to provide only the highest quality essential oils possible?
